San Beda Sea Lions San Beda Red Sea Lions once again drew strength from Theody Gavino when they won their ninth straight swimming title in the Seniors Division of NCAA Swimming Tournament. San Beda’s nine-year reign is the longest since the Mapua Splashing Cardinals collected 17 straight swimming titles.
San Beda Red Lions overpowered Mapua Cardinals in the opening game of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Basketball Championship. Making a bold statement that they intend to extend their championship run, now three, to four. The Mapua Institute of Technology scored just eight (8) points in the last quarter but still managed to stop the late rally of San Beda Red Lions. At the half, Mapua led by as much as 11 points and that proved to be a virtually safe distance against the defending champion using their slow ball. The 84th NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament eliminations will end tomorrow, Wednesday. But the Final Four can’t be readily decided after that game.
