Bulacan and Laguna private pools are an hour away from Manila. Well, sort of. That is if you’re going to traverse in a light traffic. Which, by the way, happens only every New Year’s Day. And if you’re that lucky, you’ll get there in three tiring hours.

Why stress yourself in traffic if you can get a nice private pool here in Metro Manila? Yes, there are good private pools here in the Metro but you need to search hard for it. Ask couple of friends, read print ads, or search it on your favorite search engine.

Why the post? Well, this is a shameless plug. Back in the 90′s, our family used to run a private pool here in Novaliches, Quezon City. We’re the first here, actually. Back in the day, no one asks for slides, for karaoke, for air-conditioned rooms. People only asks for the pool and the water in it. That simple.

Years passed and all of my siblings including me went to school. With that, my parents had less time to manage the pool business so they haven’t had the chance to maintain and upgrade until they decided to stop running it.

Now that all of us are graduates already, we’re going to run our private pool business again and this time we plan to take it to the next level.

So if you’re looking for a private pool within Metro Manila, try us! We’re just minutes away from your home and we’re perfect for your team building, debuts, wedding reception, baptism, parties, family outing, or barkada gimik!

You can locate us at

90 Susano Road, Bgy. San Agustin
Novaliches, Quezon City

August 17, 2008 – Micheal Phelps swam to history as he won his eighth olympic medal of the Beijing Olympics. Beating Mark Spitz’s 1972 Munich Olympics record of seven golds.

Team Speedo were behind at third when Micheal Phelps dived to swim the third leg, the butterfly. Phelps swam in a world record pace to give team USA the lead for the for the fourth and final leg to his teammate Jason Lezak.

Lezak held on to that lead and gave Phelps his eighth and final gold in 2008 Olympics. Agruably one of the greatest athletic achievement of all time.

Thanks to his teammates, this Baltimore swimmer is now one of the successful athlete

If you ask Phelps on why was Japan, Australia, Hungary or any country other team never had the United States in this Olympic glory he’ll probably say:

Imagination.

Seven golds. Seven golds.

Still, not over yet. Saturday’s fly finals was all about a hundredth of a second. Micheal Phelps swam ahead of Milorad Cavic by 0.01 seconds to claim his seventh gold medal in Beijing Olympics, tying Mark Spitz’s number of gold medals in 1972 Munich Games.

Phelps just can’t give it up to fellow American and medal-less Ian Crocker, who swam 51.13. Swimmers have their personal goals and Phelps is taking a greater goal, regardless of who’s with him in the heat.

The Baltimore swimmer did not break any world record but with his 50.58 mark, he’s just as magnificent.

Micheal Phelps is favored to get his eighth gold in Beijing. With the Americans dominating the 4×100 medley relay, the next and final event, Pelphs may soon be regarded as the greatest swimmer of all-time.

Ordinary Wednesday morning to us. History for Micheal Phelps.

After Phelps swam the 200 meter butterfly, he is now the lone Olympian to have the Most Olympic Gold Medal. And He’s not done through this day.

Team Speedo, broke the world record in 800-meter freestyle relay by 4.68 seconds to claim Phelps’ 11th Olympic Medal.

Still, it doesn’t end there. He have to show up on three more races, including the second-toughest – the 200 individual medley.

In sports, Swimming is one thing I love most. It tones your body, it improves your respiratory system and for me, it’s a stress releiver, as so with any other sports.

I’ve been watching Micheal Phelps in the Olympics. He’s making History and smashing record books.

Today, Phelps has three Golds in three events. He stands there with Mark Spitz, Carl Lewis, Larysa Latynina, and Paavo Nurmi for the Most Olympic Gold Medals.

I’ve been very blessed in my lifetime, I watched the greatest Basketball player, the greatest Golf player and now, probably the most versatile or arguably the greatest Swimmer ever.

What he does at the pool seems so easy, it’s not. Compared with other swimmers who has one race to prepare to in this year’s Olympics, Phelps has to prepare for eight (8) race. Here’s a rundown of how hard each of those races are (via espan).

As of this writing, Phelps is going to compete tonight to claim his fourth and fifth gold medals in 200-m Butterfly and 4×200-meter freestyle relay. If he does claim just one of those, he’d be the most decorated Olympian of all time. A league of his own.

His secret?

Pizza and Pasta.

Michael Phelps competes. (Photo credit: Adam Pretty/Getty Images)

One down, seven to go. For Micheal Phelps to break Mark Spitz’s record of seven gold medals, he’d need more than cheers from the President of the United States.

Phelps, 23, breaks his own record in the 400-meter individual medley, leaving behind his fellow American, Ryan Lochte, by more than four (4) seconds and laszlo Cseh from Hungary who took 4:06.16 to finish the medley.

With his 4:03.84 mark, he crushed his own record of 4:05.25 in the 400 individual medley.

Will he break Spitz’s reord? I’m a believer.

It’s one of my greatest dreams to be at the Olympics, it is something I really look forward to. I guess I still have to wait. As an athlete, I’m yet to be an Olympic qualifier. As a spectator, I’m yet to earn enough money.

The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will start this August and since I can’t be there in Beijing to cheer for the Philippine Athletes I’ll instead encourage fellow Filipinos to at least watch our Athletes in their television sets as they compete for our country.

For those of you who do not know that we have Olympians, we have. And I’ll start with my favorite sport, swimming.

I’ll share with you a brief background about Swimming in Olympics. Swimming has been held at every Olympic Games. The early events were usually only conducted in freestyle (crawl) or breaststroke. Backstroke was added as of the 1904 Games. In the 1940s, breaststrokers discovered they could go much faster by bringing both arms overhead together. This was banned in the breaststroke shortly thereafter but became the butterfly stroke, which is now the fourth stroke used in competitive swimming. Women’s swimming was first held at the 1912 Olympics. It has since been conducted at all the Olympics. Men and women compete in an almost identical programme. They have the same number of events but the freestyle distance for women is 800 metres while for men it is 1500 metres.

Now, our swimmers. We have five (5) delegates for this discipline. Miguel Molina, Ryan Arabejo, James Walsh, Daniel Coakley, and Christel Simms.

All of them registered qualifying times to enter the Olympics for their respective event.
