Veteran Jason Celestino helped Mapua Tech to their first win in this year’s NCAA Table Tennis Tournament. The win may have been against Jose Rizal University, but it is a win nonetheless.
The first match was dominated by JRU’s Mark Christian Villarin, he won against Marvin Carreon in three sets to nothing.
On the second match, Jason Celestino rallied a win over Daryl Castillo in three sets to love. Giving MIT the tie at 1-1.
Meanwhile, the doubles combination of Galwin Fabian and Aieocellis Tan brought the lead to Mapua by bringing down the doubles of JRU.
Villarin, who earlier beat Carreon, exchanges hard hits with Jason Celestino at the third singles match. Celestino won over Villarin in the fourth set by not letting him score when the set came into a deuce.
