The most celebrated collegiate basketball rivalry between La Salle and Ateneo was broght into new heights when Adidas came to sponsor both school’s athletic apparel needs.
It’s a win-win situation. Athlete’s wear performance enhancing apparel (arguably) while the Sponsors take one of the best way of brand exposure.
And while Adidas enjoys the brand exposure brought by these two Varsity teams, it’s dominance will not last. That is because Nike came up with its own version.
Sponsoring Far Eastern University Tamaraws and the University of the East Red Warriors.
Nike introduced it’s System of Dress, a dress they dubbed as structured for better performance. It is a new design from Nike that makes basketball uniform lighter and more aerodynamic.
Talking about schools, these four teams – Ateneo, La Salle, FEU, and UE will battle it out in the Final Four of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). You will see them wear these System of Dress when the Playoff kicks in.
Now, the question is. Who will win? And no, I’m not talking about the schools.
