Micheal Phelps: Eight in 2008

by Galwin ~ August 17th, 2008. Filed under: Sports.

August 17, 2008 - Micheal Phelps swam to history as he won his eighth olympic medal of the Beijing Olympics. Beating Mark Spitz’s 1972 Munich Olympics record of seven golds.

Team Speedo were behind at third when Micheal Phelps dived to swim the third leg, the butterfly. Phelps swam in a world record pace to give team USA the lead for the for the fourth and final leg to his teammate Jason Lezak.

Lezak held on to that lead and gave Phelps his eighth and final gold in 2008 Olympics. Agruably one of the greatest athletic achievement of all time.

Thanks to his teammates, this Baltimore swimmer is now one of the successful athlete

If you ask Phelps on why was Japan, Australia, Hungary or any country other team never had the United States in this Olympic glory he’ll probably say:

Imagination.
