1st Phil International Veterans TT Championships

Despite the recent Glorietta blast that causes the withdrawal of many teams such as the Xiamen Team of former world champion Guo Yue Hua, the Guangzhou Team, Liao Ning Team, Shandong Team, and Singapore Chinese Club, a sizable foreign participation are still seeing action at this Championships that includes the Nitakku-Ningbo Team led by Mr. Lo Kai Wai, a former China national player who beat Jan-Ove Waldner 25 years ago and the All-European Veteran’s runner-up British Roy Norton.  Former Hong Kong champion Ma Yu Long, former Australian champion Paul Pinkewich, former Malaysian national player Ling Ting Sik, and former Taiwan national lady champion Hsu Mei Ling are also coming here to show off their table tennis prowess.

A total of 48 teams from 11 countries coming from Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, England, Hong Kong-China, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, USA, and the Philippines will converge here in the spirit of friendly competition as they vie for top honors.

We enjoin all local table tennis enthusiasts to come and watch the Championships from November 22 to 25 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium. Admission is free.
