Going an extra mile

Have you ever loved somebody and somewhere along the way you recognize that it was not enough?

God is breaking me at this moment regarding this love issue. And, He is watching what I will do next. I’m ready to give love and not be afraid to receive it.

For some reason I feel different. And I know, I have to do something about it. I see how God is breaking me and bringing me to a higher level of love intimacy not only with him but with people around me. I don’t know where to start. I wasn’t raised as a child with this kind of love. I have no clue how. This is the basis why it hurts me in the first place.

To say you love a person is easy. But what I’m talking about is a self-sacrificing love; a love that considers the other person first. A love that is real. A love that acknowledges the person’s need and I should find ways (hard/easy) to answer it. A love given not out of emotional hype but a love given because it’s true and pure. It’s rooted inside and flows in every bloodstream of the body. It’s deep and powerful.

There’s no other way to find the answer but in God. I asked Him where to begin. He pointed me in these verses:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your body and strength. And, love your neighbor as you love yourself.”

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud…”

“Perfect love drives away all fears.”

I’m learning. I’m going in the process. I know that when God breaks, he restores. And, he restores for a SPECIAL purpose. For a bigger thing. As for now, God is giving me family and friends and Natsumi to experience the real love and enjoy the pleasure that it brings.

Everyone has a special part in my learning. I see how they love. And, I can see that it is sacrificial but as with it always goes it’s rewarding once you get to their hearts.
